Karthi’s Naa Peru Shiva Movie Review

Starring: Karthi, Kajal Aggarwal, Music: Yuvan Shankar Raja,
Producer: K.E.Gnanavelraja, Director:Susindhran

Rating: 2.75/5

Story:

Shiva (Karthi) is a middle class normal guy, who speaks out what he feels inside. He sees Priya (Kajal Agarwal) at his friend marriage and falls in love with her. No sooner Priya too falls in love with Shiva. Everything goes well until Shiva’s father gets murdered by a group of college kids. Why college kids planned to kill shiva’s father and how Shiva managed to find the students, who murdered his father is the rest of the story?

Performances:

Karthi: Karthi did a splendid job by making himself to adopt to switch genres. In the first half he did a marvelous job with impeccable comic timing and at the same time, He equally menacing in the last fight.
Kajal Agarwal: Kajal Agarwal is pretty cute and she justified her role. She didn’t have much scope to perform in this Film. Jayaprakash, Raviprakash, Soori and others did well within their limitations.

Technical Aspects:

Director Suseendran managed well in handling this type of script. First half of the film races along at a brisk pace with lots of good comedy and the movie takes an unexpected turn in the second hour and slowly turns out to be a crime thriller. Music by Yuvan Shankar Raja is good and background score of the film is worth mentioning. Madhi’s cinematography is an added advantage. Kasi Viswanath’s editing could have been better. Dialogues are crunchy.

Final Verdict:

The movie is a mixed combination of Class and Mass elements. First half of the movie is pretty good with comedy and romance, while second half has the edge of the seat stuff and having last twenty minutes with a high dose of action. The movie rums on a smooth note with expected ending.
