Sunil new movie Appalaraju

A long awaited straight Telugu flick from a brilliant Director called Ram Gopal varma’s “ Katha Screenplay Darskatvam Appalraju” was launched today morning (August 27, 2010) at Annapoorna Studios in Hyderabad. This is one of the unique launch ceremonies held in Tollywood in the recent past. Former glamour Queen Sridevi ,attended this function as the Chief Guest.Whatever Varma does, it will be a news by default. Even in today’s “Appalraju” movie launch also, few of interesting things happened which no one would have thought about it.

Traditional process of Clapping the board at Muhurtham Shot is also done in a unique style.Usually it will be clapped once at opening of any movie launching events. But Varma made Nagarjuna clap the board first, then calling it as a second take, he made Sridevi clap for the second time. As soon as she clapped the board, he said shot O.K and went on saying “If Sridevi claps the board, automatically shot will come out perfect “. Which again shows varma’s un-ending admiration towards his ‘ever before-never after’ dream girl , one and only Sridevi.

K Raghavendra Rao, Srinu Vytla, Gunashekar and others were present. Several other Celebes like Naga Chaitanya, Sumanth, Rana, Nithin and the film’s hero Sunil and heroine Colors Swathi and several producers and directors graced the occasion.

Interestingly, a song from the film was also played on the dais which goes on criticising the contemporary directors including K Raghavendra Rao, Vinayak, Sreenu Vytla, Kodi Ramakrishna, Gunashekar, etc. Gunashekar and Raghavendra Rao kept on laughing at the remarks. The song is written by lyricist Kaluva Sai and composed by noted music director Koti.

'Happy Happy Ga' Review

Film: Happy Happy Ga

Rating: 2/5

Cast: Varun Sandesh, Vega, Saranya Mohan, MS Narayana, Rajitha, Ali etc

PRO: Venu Gopal

Music: Mani Sharma

Lyrics: Sirivennela Seetarama Sastry

Producer: Durga Prasad Vadlamudi

Director: Priya Sharan

Released on: 20th Aug 2010

After the debacle ‘Maro Charitra’, young hero Varun Sandesh has come up with ‘Happy Happy Ga’. Let us see how the film stood on the big screen.

Story:

Santhosh (Varun Sandesh) is an orphan who lives along with his 4 friends and he pins his livelihood with a business of wishing the people with a bouquet on behalf of his customers. He names his team as ‘Cartoon Guys’ where his friends dress up like cartoon characters while wishing people.

Santhosh wishes to love a girl and settle his life with her. But no girl loves him. Accidentally he encounters a girl Pooja (Vega) and falls in her love. He wishes to propose her but knowing that Pooja has no positive opinion on love factor, he keeps silent. He decides to nurture his love slowly and get close to her. But unexpectedly another girl Priya (Saranya Mohan) gets force from Pooja to love Santhosh. Why so? That forms the first twist in the story. Eventually after several twists and turns, the movie comes to climax. With whom Santhosh ties up at last- Pooja or Priya, or none? That has to be watched on screen.

Performances:

Varun Sandesh needs to improve a lot. He is not coming out from his monotony. Unless he shows some versatility in performance, clarity in dialogue delivery he cannot survive longer in Tollywood that’s getting inundated with competition every year. He needs to take care in zeroing in the scripts as well.

Vega’s screen presence is very bad. Neither make-up nor costume helped her. She is just average with respect to performance as well.

Saranya is pleasing on screen. But her role lives short on screen.

Ali’s comedy brings a few good laughs in the theatre. Ravi Shankar, the famous dubbing artiste who won award for giving vice to Sonu Sood in Arundhati played full length negative shaded role. He is up to the mark but direction and camera work could have elevated him further. Technically the film appears to be poor. Dull music, tasteless RR and mundane editing couldn’t pull the audiences towards screen.

Director proved to be amateur in running the story, scene composition and maintaining emotional graph.

Analysis:

Varun Sandesh, in this movie keeps on saying a line about his business, ‘feelings meevi-expressions maavi’. While watching the movie the audiences also feel ‘kashtaalu meevi-baadhalu maavi’. Yes, no film can be made without hard work. But making it in the way that it reaps some happiness for audiences and makers plays vital role on a whole. ‘Happy Happy Ga’ is the one that is made with many ‘hardships’ but the pain hits the audience while watching it.

Here, the care isn’t taken in making the film an entertaining and heart touching treat. There is no complaint about the story line. It’s worth to be made as film. And it shouldn’t be forgotten that successful films can be made even without any story. It’s the screenplay, treatment, styling, humor, dialogue and music decide the fate of any film. The film couldn’t score good marks in any of the above mentioned 6 factors.

First half runs dull, interval bang keeps the attention intact to some extent, second half runs with several twists and the climax ends up in an unexpected note. No excitement fills the hearts of audience while stepping out from theatres. So, the future of this movie is easily predictable.

Gopichand’s new film title

Action hero Gopichand is doing a new film under Bhavya Creations Banner, the makers of Gopichand’s ’Souryam’ in past.

Writer BVS Ravi is turning director with this flick. Deeksha Seth is pairing opposite to Gopichand in this movie. Meanwhile, the producer has recently registered a title ’Gharana’and ‘Nuvvante Naaku Pichchi’ at Film Chamber of Commerce.

Most probably one would be the title for Gopichand’s film. The producer has yet to officially confirm the title among those two.

Janani Janmabhoomischa’ Song on Balakrishna

Nandamuri Balakrishna is currently busy with the shooting of his new movie ‘Parama Veera Chakra’ and this is touted to be the sequel of the blockbuster hit ‘Bobbili Puli’. Now, it is heard that the super hit song ‘Janani Janmabhoomischa…’ which was part of the original is likely to make it to the new one as well.

Apparently, director Dasari Narayana who is directing ‘Parama Veera Chakra’ is also the director for ‘Bobbili Puli’. He has already done a similar stint with his last movie ‘Young India’ which had the super hit song ‘Vandanam abhi vandanam’ from his yesteryears classic ‘Premabhishekam’.

While on one end there is glamour overflowing with three bombshells as the leading ladies, it is better Dasari works on the film carefully otherwise cine sources say that he will have a tough time. This is being made at a very high budget without any compromise.

Jr NTR & Boyapati movie launch in Vijayawada?

Action loving director Boyapati Srinu has secured his position in top Tollywood directors list with the super success of ‘Simha,’ completing his first dream hat trick with ‘Bhadra, Tulasi and Simha.’ After the roaring success of ‘Simha,’ all the Nandamuri eyes were set on junior ntr and Boyapati combination on Creative Commercial Banners of KS Rama Rao.

As per the information available, Boyapati has got himself ready with a bounded script for the movie which was liked by junior ntr and very soon launch of this movie is known to be planned in Vijayawada. So, Nandamuri Fans who are huge in numbers in Krishna district can have a huge blast in coming days with junior ntr once again showing his extra love for Krishna district Fans.

Jagapathi Babu has given voice over to the film. There are six chapters in the film with suitable colour to match its mood.

One becomes bored of the film well before interval. Just before interval the director tries to give twist to the story. But that cannot save.

A couple of songs are okay especially the last song with Kalyani. The film fails to keep interest live.
