Anushka Shetty's 'Arundhati' is all set to rewrite records for dubbed movies in Tamil. For decades, Vyjayanthi IPS (Vijayshanthi) and Iduthaanda Police (Dr. Rajasekhar) held the record but now, Arundhati might overtake them.The heroine oriented movie has Anushka in one of her best roles till date. She plays the title role, as queen Arundhati. The film, directed by Koti Ramakrishna, has superlative graphics and special effects.
Film starts with marriage Arrangements for Arundhati (Anushka) who looks like her great grandmother Jejamma (Anushka). In flash back Jejamma had an elder sister who was married with a rapist Pasupati (Sonu Sood). He was punsished by Jejamma. Aghoras saves him. Pasupati was buried alive in a tomb and powerful 'yantras' with inscriptions from Vedas and holy scriptures were put on it to prevent the 'pretatma' from coming out. Arundhati comes to know that her great grandmother had prepared a 'weapon' with her own bones to kill the pasupati and had kept it with some tribals. Anwar collects the weapon and gives it to Arundhati and in the climax Pasupati dies in the hands of Arundhati.
