Director of Malli Malli committed suicide


Today morning director Raj Adithya was found dead in his hotel room, at Basera, Secundrabad. He has reportedly committed suicide.

By nature a calm and kind person, Raj appeared tense at the press meet on March 19th, which apparently was thought as the pressure of the movie release. It is learnt that yesterday evening he arrived in city from Chennai. He was with the unit till late evening to distribute the prints of ‘Malli Malli’.

Raj then left to rest and asked the unit members to meet him in the morning. When they arrived at the hotel in the morning, he was found hanging from a fan in his room.

He is a born Keralite and was brought up in Chennai, and is presently residing in Chennai. His father Sri Kumaran Thampi is a director, writer and lyricist, who directed about 29 films in Malayalam.

He learnt his basics from his father. Later he joined Priyadarshan as an associate and also directed TV Serials for a few years.

Raj debuted as director with ‘Ishtam’ (2001) produced by Ushakiran Movies. Later he directed Pourudu followed by his latest ‘Malli Malli’ which is releasing today.

He has recently signed a new film for Supreme Raju and Gogineni Srinivas to be produced jointly on Supreme Movies and Pranav Studios, with Tarun in the lead. With such a promising career ahead, reasons for him to commit suicide is still unknown.
