Vishal's 'Pista' hits on May 22 with 200 prints

 

Vishal and Shriya starrer Pista is hitting the screens on May 22nd in big way. Producer Vikram Krishna said that they are releasing the movie with about 200 prints in Andhra Pradesh. The film is directed by newcomer S.Ayyappa. “Pista will remain as one of the biggest hit in Vishal’s career. The movie has come out so well and we are sure that it would entertain everyone. Music by Manisharma has been appreciated. We are releasing it on May 22nd,” Vikram Krishna informed the media.

Nandamuri Balakrishna is readying up for his next film. He will be doing a new film for producer Parachuri Kiriti and it will be produced on United Movies banner. Although the producer has not revealed the director’s name, TC.com came to know that B.Gopal might be directing it. Both NBK and B.Gopal have good track record. B.Gopal delivered some of the biggest blockbusters - Lorry Driver, Samarasinha Reddy, Narasinha Naidu, etc. But their recent films could not succeed at B.O.
Shooting will commence from August. More details are awaited.

 

Current’ set for May 21 release

The much talked movie of rising star Sushanth, grandson of the legendary ANR with the beautiful lead star Sneha Ullal is swiftly progressing towards a release.




This flick is directed by a new director Surya Prathap. The release date has been set as the 21st of this month and the music is given by Devi Sri Prasad for this film.



It is heard that Sushant will be seen in the role of a lover boy but an irresponsible person and on the other hand, Sneha is more of a responsible girl.



The chemistry between them and the fun that happens is the essence of the story. The audio of the film got a decent response and it now remains to be seen how the film will fare at the box office.

Venky in 'Billa' director's next

After the blockbuster, 'Billa', starring Prabhas in the lead, Meher Ramesh is all set to direct Venkatesh in his next, it is reported. Ramesh's debut film, NTR starrer 'Kantri', also was a superhit and he wants to score a hattrick with the Venkatesh film.
Venky was very impressed with 'Billa' and had asked Meher to make a script for him, it is reported. The young director is busy discussing a script for Venkatesh.

The superstar has been busy with Kamal Haasan's 'Ee Naadu', a bilingual remake of 'A Wednesday' ('Unnaipol Oruvan' in Tamil). After that he will be doing a Srinu Vaitla film. After these two projects, he would take up Meher's film, it is learnt.

Strengths: Ravi Teja, comedy and screenplay

My analysis:

Kick is a complete comedy entertainer without the right kind of story. It has all the ingredients necessary for the success of the film except for the story. Director Surender Reddy took a very serious story but lost the tempo in presenting it by adding a lot of comedy to it. Surender Reddy wanted to make a movie similar to Krishna movie showing a serious story in a very comedy way but he failed in doing so.

The main thing which any film viewer cannot accept is the story or the concept. A person who doesnt have any expertise in robbing, robs nearly 1000 crores in a very stylish and different ways just for kick in life which cannot be accepted even by a C center movie goer. The concept of hero doing all these robberies just to see smile in young children and get kick in his life is the biggest comedy in this movie. After giving a neat start for the hero and racy and hillorious first half, the director lost tempo in the movie and tried to end it by showing this silly concept which is the weakest point of Kick movie.

The first of the movie is a complete comedy treat for the audience. This half keeps the audience entertained with Ravi Teja speed and Brahmanandam slow comedy. There is no much story involved in the first half. The second half is a complete let down with dragging story and irrerelevent concept. The second half also has some bad and unesthetically made chase sequences and robbery episodes.

Kick will run successfully in theaters because there is no other worth watching telugu movie right now, but it will run only till next big starrer telugu movie is released in this summer.

Performances:

Ravi Teja is back again with an action packed performance in Kick movie. He does his own style of acting with all typical Ravi Teja mannerisms and expressions. His lively and high energy is the only saving grace for this movie. He is good as a robberer with heart.

It is nice to see Ileana after a long gap. This is her first movie after Jalsa and she did a decent role as the hyperactive girl who loves Ravi Teja and at the same time hates him for his style of living and vivid behaviour. Ileana has put on little weight and looks more sexy.

Tamil actor Shyam suited perfectly as the sinciere police officer. He looks good in the role of a police officer who loses for the first time in his duty because of Ravi Teja.

Brahmanandam as Halwa Raj is another highlight of the movie. His and Ravi Teja comedy combination is like an extension of Krishna movie. He is the one who entertains audience in both first half and second halves.

Other characters are perfectly selected for their roles.

Muisc by S Thaman is the biggest let-down in Kick movie. Even though the songs are picturized beautifully in foreign locations, they cannot create any kind of impression on the audience.

Story by Vakkantham Vamsi has more of comedy and less of serious story. The robbery part is also bad because of the silly cause behind the robberies involving high amounts of money and big people in society.

Director Surender Reddy did a decent job in bringing the story to screen. His direction and screenplay are good.

Story:

Kalyan (Ravi Teja) is a very talented guy who does everything in life for kick. He falls in love with a girl called Naina (Ileana) but they soon get seperated because of differences. Kalyan Krishna (Shyam) is a sinciere police officer who tries to catch a 1000 crore robberer who is none other than hero Kalyan. What is the relation between Ileana and Shyam ?, why did Ravi Teja turn into a robberer ? and how Ravi Teja wins back Ileana forms the remaining part of the story which should be seen only on big screen (NO PIRACY PLEASE).

Naga Chaitanya Marrying Balakrishna's Younger Daughter?

In what is being seen as one of the most path breaking and significant moves, if all goes well then it could well be that Yuvaratna Nandamuri Balakrishna and Akkineni Nagarjuna will become ‘Viyyankulu’. And the man to make that happen is none other than Chandrababu Naidu, as per grapevine.

Sources close to Nara and Nandamuri family say that CBN has been urging Balayya to get his second daughter Tejaswini married to Nagarjuna’s son Naga Chaitanya. The idea is to group Balayya, Nag, Venkatesh as one and pit them against Chiru and Rajasekhar Reddy in the future.

This would also mean that the Daggubati, Akkineni, Nandamuri clans will come together to canvass for election 2014 if TDP is not able to make it to power this time. While it is not sure what Nag has to say to this, for now the cards are said to be moved by Chandrababu. Let us see how this goes.

Veedokkade review

My analysis:

Veedokkade movie is a perfect action entertainer with all the necessary elements of commercial success. The only drawback for this movie is it is an out and out tamil movie with complete tamil flavour in it. This will be the only reason for the failure of this movie in telugu.

Director KV Anand selected a good story and executed it on screen in an even better way so that the audience will not be bored while watching the movie. The first half of the movie is entertaining with perfect smuggling scenes, hero-heroine romance and plenty of action sequences. The second half is little dragging with all the emotional and action sequences but the audience will not feel bored because of the racy screenplay and perfect direction.

Performances:

Surya acted perfectly for the role of an educated smuggler who does his job for thrill and adventure. He excelled in giving the perfect emotions and feelings in all the required sequences. Surya also developed a six-pack body which suited him perfectly. This body also helped him for the action sequences (mainly those fights involving negros) in creating the natural effect in his punches. The body also gave him an angry young man look which was required for the role in the movie. Surya should also be commended for learning Yamasaki fights for Veedokkade movie.

Tamannah looks good as the lady love of Surya. She is shown as a modern middle-class college going girl. The director also showed Tamannah more glamorously when compared with her earlier movies.

Prubhu was good in the role of God-father for Surya.

Jagan who acted as the friend of Surya was decent.

Debutant villan Akashdeep acteded aptly for the role.

Fight master Kanal Khannan should be appreciated for his action sequences in the movie. He should mainly be appreciated for the first fight in Africa and the chase sequence in Malaysia.

Cinematograghy by MS Prabhu is good. He captured the locations of Africa in perect style and elegance.

Music by Harris Jayaraj is ok. The first song is the only song which will be remembered by the audience when they come out of the theatere.

Story, screenplay and direction by KV Anand are the most attractive things in Veedokkade movie. Anand selected a perfect commercial story and brought it on screen with all the necesary commerial payoffs and emotions like action, adventure, romance, sentiment and friendship. KV Anand should be appreciated for his research in smuggling techniques and also for shooting them in perfect manner.

Indu (Priyamani) is the daughter of a billionaire businessman and she studies in Malaysia. After a few failed attempts, Aditya accepts the proposal of Indu and gets married to her. The rest of the story is all about why Aditya is depressed and is about the real reason behind Indu chasing Aditya and marrying him.Artists Performance:Bala Krishna is pretty handsome as Aditya. He downplayed himself in lots of scenes and did justice to the character. He has very few dialogues in the first half. Priyamani is very good and she got nice footage in the movie. Srilatha got a lengthy character as the friend of Priyamani. Brahmanandam is entertaining as JB Zen (Jana Bethedu Janardhan). Deepak did an important role in this movie after King and Arundhati. Krishna Bhagawan is also entertaining. Ranganadh, Balayya, Chalapati Rao and others are adequate.Technical Side:Story of the movie is penned by Vijayendra Prasad who penned the stories for all Rajamouli’s films. The story is based on astrological predictions and soothsaying. Direction is adequate for the first timer. But he should have injected good commercial payoffs like his mentor Rajamouli. By placing the fate/destiny as the spoilsport, the director couldn’t elevate the villain’s stature. And due to lack of direct conflict between hero and villain, the commercial payoffs don’t happen. Screenplay should have been more compact.Music and background score by Mani Sharma is satisfactory. The family song that comes during flashback episode is good. Dialogues by Ratnam are adequate. Photography of the movie is pleasant. Art direction for the ruined/burnt house during climax is good. Producer Sivalenka Krishna Prasad made this movie with good production values.Final Analysis:Mitrudu is a soft film with not much of punch dialogues and mass sequences. The plus points of the movie are Bala Krishna and a flashback episode. On the flip side, the movie lacks commercial payoffs and the most vital hero-villain direct conflict angle. Kick movie releasing on 8 May 2009

The release date of Kick film is postponed a day from 7 April to 8 April. This film features Ravi Teja, Shyam (12B fame) and Ileana in main leads. Surender Reddy (Athanokkade fame) directs this action based entertainer that is extensively shot in Malaysia. Venkat produces this movie on RR Moviemakers banner.
