DASARI - Return of the native

It is about six years since Darshaka Ratna Dasari Narayana Rao acted in films. This all-round personality is well known for his directorial skills, acting abilities and also for being a Journalist.

Dasari had been into active politics as a Senior Politician and Central Minister for about six years, and interestingly is making a comeback on the silver screen playing the lead role in a film titled 'Mesthri'.

The film is expected to be a big budget extravaganza hovering around the Rs. 22 Crores mark. Dasari himself is producing the film and the director is a pupil of his. Interestingly, this pupil never had an opportunity to work with him in any film.

Apart from the fact that Dasari is playing the lead role in the film, the rest of the cast is yet to be finalized although big names are expected to fill in.

The timing of the movie's release is quite interesting with general elections around the corner. The title of the film also seems to be aptly chosen because Dasari is referred to as Guguvu and Mesthri by many in the film industry.

The movie is expected to start filming very soon and plans are on to get it released by the New Year in a bid to compete with films that get released during the Sankranthi festival.

Young Bollywood Actor Spent A Lot Of Time With Sania Mirza

Call it Kismat Konnection but Shahid Kapoor’s love life is once agian under the scanner. So, who’s the lucky girl? Is it Vidya Balan or Sania Mirza?According to reports, Shahid and Sania are spending a lot of quality time. On Wednesday, the two were spotted remained together for nearly eight hours on the sets of director Vishal Bharadwaj’s Kaminay, which also stars Priyanka Chopra and Amol Gupte.

Though Sania didn’t arrive with Shahid, but once she dropped by, they were almost inseparable. What was surprising was their body language said it all. When Shahid was not facing the camera, he spent all his time with Sania. Sania spent a lot of time with Shahid in his vanity van as well.

But what about Vidya?Talking to a tabloid Shahid says, ” Vidya and I are good friends. Nothing beyond that. We shot Kismat Konnection for sixty days in Toronto. It’s the first time I have done such a long outdoor. We only had each other for company. Everybody had to get to know each other and become friends.”

I have had good friends in the past but probably because I was in a relationship, people never thought or spoke that way… probably because no one knows what is happening in my personal space and I have become very private because the last one year has been too in my face.”

So when will he tell the world about his lady love? “I don’t feel the need of screaming it out to the media,” Shahid retorts.”I will tell friends who I feel answerable to, and people who are close to me, and the rest of the world will find out in due course of time because at the end of the day, I am a celebrity and I am not going to be sitting in my room all my life, with my girlfriend,” he quips.

'Target' on target

Mumaith Khan, Shiva Balaji and Sharadha Das star in the film 'Target' and the film has finished filming. Post production work is going on right now.

Director Ramesh Raja said, 'the intensity of the film will be the same as the title. This is a commercial entertainer that'll go well with everybody. There is a message in the film that'll be liked by everybody'.

The director also added, 'Watch out for Mumaith Khan's performance. It'll be very different from her earlier roles.

Interestingly, a still from the movie featuring Mumaith Khan has a striking resemblance to steamy Sharon Stone sitting cross-legged in the movie 'Basic Instinct'. Sharon stone played the character of Katharine Tramella in this engrossing murder mystery. Well, is this a clue to the character Mumaith Khan plays in 'Target'?

Grapevine has it that the film is indeed along the lines of 'Basic Instinct' although no official comment pertaining to this has been made. 'Basic Instinct' was released almost 16 years ago and the movie is still refreshing enough to inspire loads of other movies and filmnagar is almost certain that 'Target' is also a murder mystery designed after the hot and erotic Sharon Stone.

The movie will have its audio release by the end of this month and plans are on to get the film released by the 2nd week of August. Singi Setti Dasarath and B. Ramakrishna are producing this film under the banner of Siri Sai Surya Movies. Other important members of the cast include Riyaaz Khan, Vishwajith Pradhan, Krishna Bhagavan, Venu Madhav among others.

Dialogues are by Veligonda Srinivas and cinematography by V. N. Suresh Kumar. The background score is by Koti.

Is 'Target' inspired by 'Basic Instinct'? We'll know for sure in a few weeks. This sure is worth the wait.

It is the season that brings about a lot of cheer and happiness for actress Gopika. She hasbeen betrothed with Ajilesha, a medical practitioner based in Ireland. The betrothal took place in Gopika's home town of Trissur and the marriage will take place in Ernakulam on the 17th of this month.

ZEE TV to churn out Telugu films

Leading media giant Zee TV is venturing into Telugu film production with the banner Zee Entertainments, and their first production would star Sharwanand.

The film will be directed by Chandra Siddardh. Sharwanand made it big with the grand success of 'Gamyam'. He was in no hurry to go on a signing spree and was waiting for the right script to carry his carrier forward.

The script supposedly is exciting and shooting is slated to happen by the end of August. Right now selection of heroine is going on.

The rest of the cast and crew are yet to be finalized.

The name of the party and other details regarding its agenda, flag, and election symbol are being kept under wraps.Meanwhile, sources close to Chiranjeevi said he was perturbed at his proposed party being lampooned as a family venture. The actor’s brothers, K. Nagendra Babu and Pavan Kalyan, and brother in-law Allu Aravind are actively involved in the launch of the party and were slated to take up important posts. But Chiranjeevi’s political adviser, Dr Mitra, and others have cautioned him that this would send a negative message. The actor is now reportedly planning to keep Pavan Kalyan and Allu Aravind out of the party hierarchy to avoid criticism.Mr Nagendra Babu is all set to take up responsibility as the party’s general secretary. “Only Mr Naga Babu will be in the party structure since Chiranjeevi does not want to give the wrong impression,” said the source. Rajasekhara Reddy is working in a Telugu film.Interestingly, he is playing the role of the chief minister in "'Gokaraju" that is based on Andhra politics.Rajasekhara Reddy, who is a physician, will make guest appearance in the film, to be produced by C.C. Reddy and directed by Arun Prasad.The shooting of the film began in the chief minister's camp office Saturday.YSR, as the chief minister is popularly known, had agreed to act in the film in March. He will be acting along with comedian Brahmanandam.The chief minister's role in the movie will be dedicated to the upliftment of a poor village in the state. The movie is being produced at a time when Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi is gearing up to launch a new political party next month and several other stars are waiting to join either the ruling Congress party or the main opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP).Congress leaders hope the movie would help the chief minister send his message to people ahead of assembly and Lok Sabha elections.On Saturday, YSR also launched a 'ratham' or specially decorated vehicle, which will go around the state to publicise the development and welfare programmes taken up by his government during last four years.

The highlight of the film is the deft handling of the emotional scenes and the reunion of the brothers is touching. If the film is promoted well, it will surely find the deserved recognition and has every chance of becoming a success.
