Jr NTR Double Role Again

It looks like Young Tiger Jr NTR who is currently recuperating from the wounds of his accident will be seen in a dual role in his forthcoming venture.It is known that NTR has teamed up with V V Vinayak for his next movie and sources say that he would be seen doing a double role in this.The film has the hot Malayalam beauty Nayantara in the lead while the big eyed beauty Sheela is the second female lead. It must be recalled that NTR did a double role in the film ‘Andhrawala’ and that failed to shine at the box office so it now remains to be seen how this one is going to fare. from his end is said to be quite firm on making this a good hit. Get well soon before that young tiger!

Ride press meet

The makers of Ride movie arranged a press meet yesterday at Annapoorna Studios to inform the movie progress to media. Nani of Asta Chama fame, Tanish of Nachavule fame, Swetha Basu Prasad of Kotha Bangaru Lokam Fame and Aksha of Yuvatha fame are playing the lead roles. Ramesh Verma who was once a poster designer is directing this movie. Bellamkonda Suresh is producing Ride. Playback Hemachandra is making his debut as music director with this movie.

Speaking on the ocassion, hero Nani said that he was 100% sure that Ride movie is going to be super hit. Hero Tanish said that Ride is a different kind of movie coming to Tollywood after Premadesam because Ride is also based on friendship and love.

Bellamkonda Suresh who is the producer of Ride movie said that almost 80% shooting of the movie is complete and also said that he is planning foe a May 9th release.

Manoj Manchu K Raghavendra Rao's Movie Progress

Veteran director K. Raghavendra Rao is going to direct Manoj Manchu, son of Dr Mohan Babu. He acted in the different films like ‘Nenu Meeku Telusa’ and ‘Prayanam’ recently.

Lakshmi Manchu is likely to make the film under Sri Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures banner. More details of the movie will be announced soon. Manoj has also signed up for a film in the direction of a new director Veeru Potla.

On the other hand, Manoj’s latest film ‘Prayanam’ in the direction of Chandra Sekhar Yeleti is going to hit the cinemas in April. Harika is the heroine in t his film. The film is said to be simple love story.

Mohan Babu’s daughter Lakshmi Manchu is making her entry as a heroine now. Lakshmi Manchu had previously worked in Hollywood in various TV shows and is also involved in the production of few films in her home production.

Lakshmi Prasanna, also known as Laki Manchu or Lakshmi Manchu is a trained actor, and worked in American situation comedies.

Lakshmi Manchu is acting as lead actress in a women-oriented movie produced by her brother Vishnu Manchu.

PISTA To Release On April 21st

The macho hunk Vishal’s latest bilingual film ‘Pista’ starring Shriya Saran as the heroine is progressing its regular shooting in Hyderabad. The film is set to release on 14th May and the audio is going to release on 21st April.

Vikram Krishna is producing the film under GK Films Corporation banner. Saba Ayyapan is making his directorial debut with this film. Prakash Raj is playing the villain role in this film. Mani Sharma is scoring the music for this movie.

The film is titled ‘Thoranai’ in Tamil is going to release both in Telugu and Tamil simultaneously. The movie has been shot for 30 days in Hyderabad and the schedule will be completed very soon.

Other cast: Ali, Krishna Baghavan, Kondavalasa, Santhanam, Kishore, Tanikella Bharani. Dharmavarapu, Annapurna, Sakuntala, chitram Srinu and others.

Simhasanam" Remake With Mahesh Babu

Superstar Krishna seems to planning to remake ‘Simhasanam’ with Mahesh Babu.

It is heard that Rajamouli approached Krishna to allow him to use the sets of ‘Simhasanam’, a block buster movie released in 1987.

However, Krishna is reportedly refused his request politely and further told him that he was planning to remake the movie.

However, it is known when this movie will commence. Let us hope that we will see Mahesh Babu in a great role played by his father.

Venkatesh and Trivikram Selected Priyanka Chopra

Venkatesh who has recently signed a movie which will be directed by Srinu Vaitla has taken a step further and simultaneously signed a movie with a hard-hitting subject. This movie is said to be scripted by Trivikram Srinivas and will also be directed by him.

Trivikram Srinivas is presently busy filming his much delayed Varudu with Mahesh Babu. Meanwhile, according to the latest film nagar grapewnie, Srinu Vaitla’s movie with Venky was presently paused due to some budget reasons. But it may again resume its shooting from May 1st week.

The shooting of Venky and Trivikram Combo will be starting from September this year.

According to sources, a script has been finalized which deals with a young man visiting Mumbai city. Fortunately, Venky falls in love with a Hindi film star and then starts a twist to the story.

Some sources reveal that Priyanka Chopra has been finalized for the role and she has given her 45 day call sheet to complete the movie. If all goes ell accordingly, then the movie may be released in December.

Sumanth's "BONI" Movie Shooting Progress

Sumanth starrer Boni had its music launch on Monday evening (April 20, 2009) at HICC, Hyderabad. The event was held on a grand scale and the ceremony was conducted in unique way.

Produced by Green Mangoes banner, the film is directed by Raj Pippala and It is maiden production for Music director Ramana Gogula and he has invited all the leading music directors to the ceremony.

Manisharma, Koti, Chakri, RP Patnaik, Sri and singer Karunya attended. They all wished him a great success. Hero Sumanth who looked confident said that the film would be a special movie in his career.


He praised the debutant director Raj Pippalla for great visuals and unique narration of the movie.

'Gopi Gopika Godavari Teeram' Releasing In May

Vamsi, one of the greatest directors of Telugu Cinema, is back. He is directing Gopi Gopika Godavari Teeram with Kamlinie Mukharjee and Venu in the lead roles.

The films is produced by Valluripalli Ramesh who produced super hit – Avunu Valliddaru Istapaddaru, Vamsi’s comeback film in his second innings. The film like most of Vamsi’s movies is set in the backdrop of Godavari river. Venu and Kamlinee are working together for the first time.

The film has almost finished its shooting and is currently now in post-production stage. “We have shot the movie like Paapikondalu, Polavaram, Singannapalli Revu, on the river Godavari.

We are planning to release the music by this month end,” producer Valluripalli informed the media.

The film has music by Chakri who also scored for Vamsi's Avunu Valliddaru Istapaddaru.

Lawrence's Rajadhi Raja Releasing In May 2nd Week

Choreographer turned director turned actor Lawrence is back. After Pardhu, he is coming up with another movie as hero - Rajadhi Raja.

Originally made in Tamil, the movie is being dubbed into Telugu by Sridevi pictures. Lawrence romances with three sexy heroines in this movie - Kamna Jethmalini, newcomers Snigdha and Meenashi.

And former sexy queen Mumtaz plays lady villain role. The three girls are competed each other to show off their sexy bodies.

Directed by Sakthi Chidanbaram, Rajadhi Raja the film will be releasing in Tamil and Telugu simultaneously in the second week of May

The heading for this review is given basing on the idea of the movie. Although it is not a direct lift from Chiranjeevi’s life there are many instances where it resembled the present situation. In real life, Chiranjeevi is a big film star turned politician, but here in this film, the lead role is an ordinary man turned politician. That’s the only difference. For someone who has come from an ordinary background, the role of being a Chief Minister is not only difficult but he will also see the dirty game of politics that is played. How does he overcome the challenges, let us see.

Story:
Suribabu (Jagapathi) is a man who does not stand injustice and believes in serving people. And he is unemployed. His godfather Sriramulu (Parachuri), a good local leader decides to get him a job at CM office and speaks to CM (Ahuti Prasad). Suri joins as PS to CM but a sequence of events happen and Sriramulu is killed. His last wish is to see Suri into politics and in no time, Suri an ordinary PS becomes an MLA. Meanwhile, he is also in love with Rajeshwari (Shraddha) a doctor. Eventually he forms PDF (Progress Democratic Front), a group of independent MLAs. With his coalition with Progress Party, in no time, Suri also becomes the Chief Minister and takes the help of honest cop Hamsa (Hamsa Nandini) to weed out the evil elements. How does he become CM and what challenges he faces forms the rest of the story.

Performance:
Jagapathi Babu has come across with a matured performance but it must be said that he refrains from dance and some fight poses. He was more effective in the second half than in the first.

Shraddha Das was alright and though she showed her oomph it was not that impressive. Hamsa looked sensuous and though her role was brief, she made her presence felt.

Ahuti Prasad was regular, Anandraj contributed his bit and was apt, Chalapathi Rao and Annapurna did justice to their roles, Sivaparvati was powerful, Paruchuri was effective and Krishna Bhagawan managed few laughs. The rest were alright.

The director attempted to come up with a thought provoking social message but he does not have the class to present and narrate it in the right fashion. The dialogues were somewhat okay, the script was average and the screenplay was bad. Songs found leads from hits of yesteryears and there was nothing new. Camera department was not great, editing was poor. Costumes and art department could have been better.

Andhra Desam Party is used as replica for Telugu Desam

Mohan Rao’s character resembles film actor turned politician Murali Mohan who has been giving free education for hundreds of orphans.

The words in Jagapathi Babu’s dialogues ‘Udayinche Suryudu’, ‘maarpu’ etc resemble Praja Rajyam Party of Chiranjeevi.

A soothsayer says to heroine that she would marry a ruler. Although sounded biased, a kid questions who will be that ruler- Chiranjeevi or Advani?!!

Progress party resembles Congress and Andhra Desam Party resembles Telugu Desam.

Analysis:
The film is basically a political stuff and it tried to bring about a strong message to the citizens and a possible awakening amongst the audience. However, such films require a tight screenplay and to the point scenes without any diversions.

The length of the movie is too much and even the pace was quite slow during the first half. It is only during the second half that the momentum is good but again the climax could have been a lot better instead of becoming melodramatic with a long list of dialogues from Jagapathi Babu despite being hit by a bullet and stabbed by a sword. The mass audience has got enough elements such as glamorous songs, fights and some dialogues but family audience will not relish it and it is definitely not for the class audience.

The film could have been lot better if it focused on condensing the length and had a tighter screenplay.
