J.D. Chakravarthy debuted as a villain in 1989 with Nagarjuna’s blockbuster Shiva, later made a name as a hero with Gulabi (1996) and then turned director with Durga: It’s Not Just a Love Story (2002). He is currently busy acting as villain in Nagarjuna’s son Naga Chaitanya’s debut film Josh. It is now heard that JD is likely to direct Naga Chaitanya’s second film, which will be a remake of Shiva. More details are awaited.
After Josh, JD will begin shooting his next directorial venture under the banner of RR Movie Makers, who recently made the blockbuster Kick with Ravi Teja and Ileana. JD recently narrated another story to Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, who was impressed by the script and gave dates for the film. This movie will start in 2010.
Meanwhile, Josh, directed by debutant Vasu Varma and produced by Dil Raju under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations, has been slated for release on August 12. The film recently had its audio launch. Yesteryear heroine Radha’s daughter Karthika is the heroine.(galatta)
