BALAKRISHNA SIMHA GOING TO BE A BIG HIT

Namo Venkatesa Movie Review

Cast: Venkatesh, Trisha, Brahmannadam, Dharmavarapu, Kasi Viswanath, Jaya Prakash Reddy, Mukesh Rishi, Subbba Raju, Surya, Prithvi, Master Bharat, Surekha Vani, etc
Release Date: 14th Jan 2010

Story

Venkatramana (Venkatesh) is a ventriloquist by profession and his only problem is marriage. He goes to European Telugu Association celebrations as a performer and encounters some interesting people there. He is waiting for his dream girl to come. She comes in the form of Pooja (Trisha) but then, her uncle Paris Prasad (Brahmanandam) who is a manipulative kind of person creates a drama just for fun and convinces Venkatramana that Pooja is in love with him. Meanwhile, Pooja’s marriage gets fixed with Bhadrappa (Subbaraju), the hardcore factionist and what happens from there forms the rest of the story. Artists Performance: Venkatesh: It was a Venky show all the way and he has shouldered it responsibly. However, the looks of age are showing on him and even his reflexes lack that emotion. Overall, he did a good job. Trisha: Unlike in ‘King’ where she looked healthy and bright, Trisha looks quite dull and shrunk. Also, her character doesn’t have much to perform except be there on the screen and for the songs. So, not much hard work from her. Telugu Movie Reviews Brahmanandam: His character was developed well and Brahmi did justice to it in a good way. Some scenes emit a lot of hilarious moments and others could have been developed better. He scored good in this one. Others: Mukesh Rishi was regular, so were Jayaprakash Reddy, Kota, Subbaraju and others. Ali was not upto the mark, M S Narayana was good as usual, Dharmavarapu and Kasi Viswanath generated few laughs, the others like Surekha Vani and Master Bharat were there for brand value but more could be extracted from their end. The ladies also had the same effect in terms of performance and contribution.

Highlights: *

Venkatesh dancing for songs Allu Arjun’s ‘Mr Perfect’ and ‘Ringa Ringa’ brought laughs in theaters * Vehicle chasing is a visual treat * Dog chasing is a mass entertainer Disappointments:

 * Music *

Lack of sufficient rib tickling dialogues and situations

Final Analysis:
The movie is a storehouse of entire Srinu Vaitla battalion again. The standard cast and crew he maintained for his previous films is seen in this entertainer as well. The concept is just an old wine in new bottle but the shape of bottle could be more interesting. The laughing riot is not worked to the level of his earlier entertainers. Brahmanandam is used well but the dose of script is a bit weak. Master Bharat who is a standard comedy star in Srinu Vaitla’s films is also not fully utilized. First half of the movie is entertaining but the interval bang conveys something very interesting is waiting in second half. Even the interval liner is ‘Get Ready for Real Game’. But the game is very well in predictable limits. The movie stands out to be a wonderful entertainer for the audiences those didn’t watch ‘Dhee’ and ‘Ready’. But in comparison ‘Namo Venkatesa’ of Vaitla scores little less. Music could be better to bring better mileage for the film. On a whole it’s a family entertainer for this Sankranthi season.

Shambho shiva shambho review

S.Chowdary Rating: 2.5/5
Director : समुठुराकानी
Music Director : Sundar C Babu
 Producer : Bellamkonda Suresh
Starring : Ravi Teja, Priyamani, Naresh, Shiva Balaji, Abinaya and others... Related Links: Movie Stills Audio Launch Stills , Posters, Videos,

First Day First Show Sambho Shiva Sambho is not a typical Ravi Teja film. In fact it is not even a typical Telugu film. The hero does not get his girl. He risks his everything for his friend’s love marriage which ends in a divorce even before the proverbial song and dance sequence ends. And by the time the audience walks out of the theater they are as confused as the hero. What is it about : The film is about Karna (Ravi Teja) an unemployed youngster who values friendship and honesty above everything else in his life. His friends Malli and Seenu are the usual lot many of us can identify with. Malli – a role essayed by Allari Naresh – wears his heart on his sleeve and is especially endearing. Into their lives walks Santosh (the son of a MLA) who falls in love with a factionist’s daughter Priya. Karna, Malli and Seenu join hands to unite Santosh and Priya. In the process they also take the help of local Naanni (Sunil). In the process their lives get shattered. In the fights that ensue, Malli becomes deaf, Seenu loses his leg. And Karna’s maamayya (Thanikella Bharani) refuses the hand of his daughter to Karna because of him getting involved in a police case. In between all this they get the news that Santosh and Priya have separated because they get “bored” of each other. Karna gets angry because he feels that too much has been sacrificed for the sake of Santosh. So he wants to teach him a lesson. How Karna and Malli manage to do that is the story of the rest of the film. What is Good: The realism in the film is excellent In fact it is way too intense so as to cause a measure of discomfort. The scenes where Karna and his friends run off with Priya from the warlord’s den in Kurnool are shot with authenticity. The blood and gore can make you wince. Also the scene where Karna’s maradalu (Priyamani) tries to fight for the love of her man with her father (Thanikella Bharani) is intense and so very real. The dialogues between the friends and their interplay with their families is easily identifiable. The director manages to get middle class authenticity into the screen in a manner not seen for a long time in the Telugu screen. Cinematography is sharp and detailed. The film in the first half manages to sustain the viewer’s interest. What is bad: In the second half the film sinks under a tidal wave of emotion. The whole atmosphere of the film gets noisy. Telugu audiences are not used to this level of emotional heaviness especially when the film has Ravi Teja in it. Fans who expect the usual dose of slap stick humor, punch dialogues and racy songs – the staple diet in Ravi a Teja film - will be disappointed. Sunil’s comedy is a let-down. The songs and dance have a distinct “tamil” flavor in them. Priyamani looks like a ragged doll. I don’t recollect the last time a Telugu heroine was presented with such a heavy foundation make up throughout the film. The characters of Roja (Santosh’s mother) and Mukesh Rishi (Priya’s father) are wasted. But the biggest conflict is with the message in itself. On the one hand the director seems to be telling that one should not rush headlong into love marriages.

On the other hand his Karna’s character seems to be ready to help another set of lovers get united. And to add to the confusion, Karna himself seems to accept that his love is doomed. Bottom Line: Watch it if you are a hard core Ravi Teja fan. And even then prepare to see him like you have never seen him before. He is totally deglamorised – sad really considering the fact that he looks fit as a fiddle. In this packed Sankranthi schedule,
Sambho Siva Sambho seems to have dropped out of the race, which in all likelihood will be between Adhurs and Namom Venkatesa. That I guess speaks about the status of this film.

Story

saleemThis is the story of twins who get separated at birth. Narasimha (NTR) gets raised by a single mother and he becomes an undercover agent to a top cop. Chari (NTR) is brought up by a family of traditional Hindu priests. A gang of baddies (Asish Vidyardhi and Mahesh Manjrekar) are in search of the family of a top scientist. The rest of the story is about the relationship between the scientist and the twins and the comedygenerated by switching between the characters.

Artists Performance
adursNTR: NTR donned two roles. He is extremely entertaining as Chari with Brahmin diction. He generated lots of comedy when he says ‘naakesaru’ repeatedly in the movie. His character as Narasimha is more like extension of his Kantri character (both looks and mannerisms). His dances are amazing and give you a mass kick in the title song that comes before climax.
adursOthers: Brahmanandam hogs the limelight again in this movie as a Hindu priest who ‘maintains’ the family of Nayana Tara. Brahmanandam has lots of footage and he in combination of NTR makes sure that there is enough entertainment. Nayana Tara is paired up with Chari character and she is pretty good. Sheela is glamorous and she is paired with Narasimha character. Mahesh Manjrekar is wasted due to poor characterization. Nassar, Sayaji Shinde and Asish Vidyardhi are alright.
Technical departments
adursStory - screenplay - direction: Story given by Kona Venkat is contrived. It is an old-fashioned formulaic story of twins which had been presented to us umpteen number of times (Don, Rowdy Alludu, Mugguru Monagallu, Hello Brother etc). The scientist father angle is inspired by Krishh. The undercover agent had The Departed/Pokiri shades. Screenplay by VV Vinayak should have been better. VV Vinayak who brings emotion into his action films couldn’t do justice to mass character in Adurs. The action sequences and emotion involved in it is not properly established. However, VV Vinayak seems to have acquired a knack for getting his comedy timing well since his last film Krishna. The characterization he has done for Chari character deserves applause. I liked the ‘atma’ (mummy) twist given to Brahmanandam character in the second half. The second half and climax needs a lot of improvement.
adursOther departments: The numbers scored by Devi Sri Prasad are just okay. My personal favourites are ‘where is the panchekattu’ followed by title song. Cinematography by Chota K Naidu is alright. Dialogues by Kona Venkat are good in parts. Editing and other post-production activities should have been better. The graphics work done in this movie is sub-standard compared to big hero projects. Producer Vamsi has spent good amount of money in the movie, but it is not converted into the final product. There is no slickness in visuals and sound.
adursAnalysis: First half of the movie is okay with some nice entertainment by NTR (Chari character) and Bramanandam. The second half of the movie where the real crux lies is not constructed well. The three serious villains (Sayaji Shinde, Asish Vidyardhi & Mahesh Manjrekar) of the movie conspire in the second half only to transform themseleves into comedy villains. The climax should have been better. Plus point of the movie is comedy by Chari character. The story and screenplay are the weaklings. VV Vinayak should have concentrated more on Narasimha character to get the balance in terms of emotion and action orientation. We have to wait and see how the masses receive it.
